East St. Paul getting ready to bloom

Posted: March 3, 2017

East St. Paul is ready to bloom and the RM needs your help!

The municipality is interested in joining Communities in Bloom (CIB) - a national, non-profit organization that aims to foster civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification with a focus on green spaces.  Manitoba Communities in Bloom is the Manitoba Chapter of the organization.  For more information visit www.communitiesinbloom.ca.

Municipalities that join CIB work towards improving their community, in specific categories, and participate in a yearly competition where they earn a score - marked by blooms - that reflects their efforts.  Five blooms is the top award.

East St. Paul is looking to establish a CIB committee, and citizen volunteers are needed.

Participating on the committee isn't time consuming, and is perfect for those concerned with green issues, history and bolstering a sense of community within the area.

Anyone interested joining, or for more information on Communities in Bloom, can contact East St. Paul Recreation Programmer, Tyne Mills, at tyne.mills@eaststpaul.com or by calling (204) 668-8336, ext. 112.
