Posted: January 18, 2017
as HR consultant on Nov. 8
Tone worked for the City of Winnipeg for 34 years, initially as a front line social worker, moving to Human Resources in 1995 and retiring from her position as Human Resource Manager in July 2016.
In her new role with the RM, Tone will provide strategic consulting in several areas, including performance management, employee engagement, recruitment, orientation, policy review and staff development.
I'm really enjoying it. From a HR perspective there's a lot of really good things going on here, so I have the fortunate task to build on that to improve and enhance wherever I can," Tone said.
"It's been very good. The staff here are wonderful. Everyone is so helpful, friendly and pleasant. They've made the transition easy."
Outside of work, Tone is married with two adult daughters, two grandsons, aged four and two, and one six-month-old granddaughter.
"Christmas will be lots of fun," Tone said.
Travelling is one of Tone's favorite things to do, and she just returned from a six-week trip to Australia and New Zealand before starting her new job. She said they drove through the outback, camped in a camper van and, even rode a camel.
"I always say travelling is an education. It doesn't matter where you go, you learn something."
