Burning ban in effect in East St. Paul, effective immediately

The Rural Municipality of East St. Paul is putting a burning ban into effect immediately.

Conditions this year are extremely dry due to the lack of precipitation this past winter. The ban will stay in place until conditions improve. Once the ban is lifted, open air burning will be allowed by permit only. Permits will be issued by the Fire Chief or designate. All existing fire permits are suspended till the ban is lifted.

Recreational burning is still allowed in an approved fire pit or wood-burning appliance and there is no permit required for recreational burning, but please ensure smoke does not affect neighbouring homes. An adult should supervise burning for recreational fires and only dry wood should be burned, no grass, leaves, paper, or garden refuge.
