RM of East St. Paul play structures, Skate Park opening May 8

The RM of East St. Paul will be opening its play structures to the public today, May 8.

Play structures in the municipality were closed March 27 to assist in reducing the spread of COVID-19.

The re-opening comes on the heels of the Province of Manitoba’s multi-phased plan to allow some services to re-open. However, we remind members of the public that social distancing guidelines are still in effect.

We welcome the opportunity for families to enjoy time outside but please remain two metres, or six feet, away from others while enjoying East St. Paul’s outdoor spaces.

The municipality will not be sanitizing playground equipment and we cannot guarantee safety, cleanliness, and sanitization of the equipment. We encourage members of the public to bring sanitizer and take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of yourself and your children.

The Skate Park is also open, and again, the municipality will not be sanitizing, so exercise caution. East St. Paul’s trails are also open to the public and we encourage everyone to use them responsibly and adhere to social distancing.

Provincial regulations limit social gatherings to crowds of no more than 10 people. Please adhere to these rules.

We’d like to take this opportunity to applaud all those who have weathered this storm and done their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19. That said, as we take these initial steps towards returning to a more normal lifestyle, please remember that we need to remain vigilant – wash your hands, sanitize, practice social distancing and if you are feeling sick, please stay home.

Enjoy the outdoors, be respectful of others and have fun!
