Music in the Plaza with Four Tuned Cookies a hit

Posted: September 3, 2019

Four Tuned Cookies perform at Music in the Plaza on Aug. 29.

Music in the Plaza kicked off Aug. 29 with Four Tuned Cookies taking to the stage at Centennial Plaza, performing songs for everyone.

Centennial Plaza was built as the RM’s centennial legacy project and was designed to bring the community together. Several events have been held in the Plaza, which was officially opened on Aug. 16, 2018. Music in the Plaza, which runs every Thursday until Sept. 19, is the latest event.

"I think this event is starting to (bring the community together),” said M. Dupas, who came out to last Thursday’s event.

"I think it's a good use of this space.”

The weather was more fall-like than we would have liked, but a good crowd came out to listen to Four Tuned Cookies play some familiar tunes. Dupas hoped there would be more events held in the Plaza.

"Yeah, sure, definitely,” Dupas said.

Music in the Plaza continues for the next three Thursdays. Next up on Sept. 5 is Alex Roberecki, Sept. 12 puts Edgar Desjarlais on stage and the final performance on Sept. 19 features Dane Neufeld and Corbin Friesen.

Come out and enjoy some exceptional local talent and remember to bring a lawn chair or blanket. All shows start at 6:30 pm.
