RM and Waste Connections of Canada working together to improve garbage and recycling service

Mechanical issues with Waste Connections of Canada’s fleet have resulted in delayed pickup in all zones of East St. Paul. Waste Connections of Canada is the RM’s garbage and recycling contractor.

We apologize for the delays, and as of Jan. 2, Waste Connections has brought in additional trucks and staff to expedite the pick-up of both garbage and recycling. We anticipate that by this Saturday, Jan. 5, all garbage and recycling pick-up should be up to date.

Under our new contract with Waste Connections, two newer trucks will be servicing the municipality beginning next month. The goal for the RM and our contractor is that these trucks will provide the best possible service to residents.

If residents choose, until Jan. 8, they can take their excess garbage and recycling to the East St. Paul Transfer Station free of charge. The Transfer Station is located at 4140 Birds Hill Road.

Again, we apologize for the delay, and assure all residents we are working collaboratively with Waste Connections of Canada to offer the best garbage and recycling service for the entire RM.

Any questions or concerns, please contact the Operations Office at 204-668-8336.
