Crib anyone?
Card players wanted at 55+ Activity Centre

The card plays at the 55+ Activity Centre are hoping some new members will join
the club and get in on some crib or whist.  They're also looking to start a canasta group.

If you're 55 or over and looking for a card game, the East St. Paul 55+ Activity Centre is ready to deal you in.

The card club, which has been running at the Centre for more than 30 years is hoping to attract a few more members.

It was the card players who started the club in 1977 when they were given the building.  They worked hard to clean and look after the building for all these years and are still going strong today.

There are about 25-30 members in the group and they play cribbage and whist.  They're also hoping to start a canasta group.

Some of the members are in their 80s and 90s and they'd love to have more avid card players join them.

They play crib on Tuesdays from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm and whist on Fridays at the same time.

The Centre is the home to many activities.  Along with cards, billiards and floor shuffleboard have been mainstays at the 55+.  There's table shuffleboard as well, and anyone interested in playing is welcome to join.

Some of the newer groups include yoga, zumba, quilting and book club.  All welcome new members.

The Centre is a perfect place to connect with old friends and meet new ones.

The card players incorporate a lunch into their days and all the groups make socializing a big part of their time at the 55+.  A yearly membership is $10.

If you're interested in yoga or zumba, but are worried it won't be enough of a challenge, fret no more - it's designed for seniors but provides a great workout.
