Seniors Spring Luncheon set for April 25th

East St. Paul Council is about to spring something new on its senior residents with the first ever Seniors Spring Luncheon to be held April 25 in the arena banquet hall.

Mayor Shelley Hart said the catered lunch, which will take place from noon to 2 pm, is a council initiative.

"We have a large senior population in East St. Paul and we wanted to create an event specifically designed for them as they are such an important part of our community,” Hart said.

"Our seniors are a very active group and we’re honoured to host a spring luncheon for them and we’re pleased to provide an educational component as well.”

The East St. Paul Fire Department will be on hand for the luncheon and at 1:30 pm will make a presentation on "Senior Home Fire Safety”.

The luncheon is free to any East St. Paul seniors, aged 55-plus, and all members of the 55+ Activity Centre. Lunch, catered by Jeanne Horvath, will include delicious perogies, meatballs, coleslaw, relish trays, desserts, coffee and tea.

Please join us for what will be an enjoyable afternoon. You can RSVP by April 18 to 204-668-8336 Ext. 112 or by email to Tyne at tyne.mills@eaststpaul.com

There will be two Seniors Luncheons held each year. The second luncheon will take place in the winter and a date will be announced later this year.
