Texaco/Eagle Creek Drain Project

November 6, 2020

  • As part of the ongoing Texaco/Eagle Creek Drainage Upgrades Project, the Eagle Creek Pond system will be undergoing some maintenance through the winter beginning in January. To prepare for this work the pond system will be dewatered beginning on Friday, November 6th, 2020 and is anticipated to continue for approximately 7 to 10 days.

There will be a generator located at the end of Burr Oak Bay that will be running during the day to power the pumps. Pumping will occur into the creek that runs through Burr Oak Bay and Henderson Highway to the Red River. Higher water flows than normal will occur during the period of dewatering.

We are asking that everybody stay clear of the area for safety reasons, including children and pets. This includes both the retention pond system as well as areas downstream in the vicinity of Burr Oak Bay. It is critical that everybody stay off the ponds until further notice as ice lensing may occur from overnight lows and there is a danger of thin ice forming.

We thank you for your patience throughout this project.
