Lawrence Morris, along with his wife Ester and two children, has resided in East St. Paul for over 30 years. Lawrence was first elected in 1995 and has served in key positions of responsibility during his eleven consecutive years as councillor in the R.M. of East St. Paul.

Lawrence is a founding member of the East St. Paul Lions Club and a volunteer at the Holy Family Nursing Home. Lawrence retired from a management position with the Canadian Grain Commission after a distinguished 35-year career.

For the past seven years, Lawrence has served as a full-time councillor willing to listen and work on behalf of East St. Paul residents.

Mike Wasylin was re-elected Ward 1 Councillor in October and is now serving his second-term in that capacity. Mike was recently named Deputy Mayor and currently represents East St. Paul's interests on the Regional Infrastructure Committee (RRIC) and Recreation Board.

Mike's priorities include balancing our infrastructure demands (especially sewer and water) with a moderate pace of development. A more equitable system of assessing water and sewer rates as determined by the Public Utilities Board is an immediate concern.

Mike is a practicing lawyer, specializing in real estate and litigation for the past 26 years. He and wife Claire are parents to Christopher, Kate and adoptive "grandparents" to a Husky-Lab mongrel, Gus. The Wasylins live, work and play at 390 Terrance Place.

Councillor Doreen Negrich-Lozinski, Ward II

Doreen Negrich-Lozinski is a life-long resident of East St. Paul.

In addition to being kept busy by her three sons, Doreen is very active in the community. She serves as a coordinator for the East St. Paul Police Victim Services, Chairs the East St. Paul Development and Town Planning Advisory Committee, and is also a member of the Emergency Planning and Justice committees.

Doreen is a Realtor and the co-owner of Century21 Advanced Realty.

As a new councillor, Doreen hopes to bring positive change to the community and looks forward to serving on behalf of Ward 2 residents.

Councillor Rolfe Kajpust, Ward III

Rolfe Kajpust has lived with his wife Melissa in the R.M. of East St. Paul for the past twenty years. They have three children, Daniel (18), Holly (17) and David (14). Rolfe is a Firefighter with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and has just completed 22 years of service. During his career, he was a Fire Inspector for five years, and held a term position as the Safety Officer for the service. He is presently assigned to the Hazardous Materials response team located at No. 9 Fire Station in St. Boniface. Rolfe is also a current member of the East St. Paul Fire Department and served as Deputy Chief from 1991-1998.

Rolfe looks forward to serving the citizens of East St. Paul and working with the new council.

Councillor Charles Posthumus, Ward IV

Charles Posthumus had lived in East St. Paul for the past 20 years. His wife, Diana, is the Principal of Kildonan-East Collegiate and together they have three children - Chad (15), Christina (11) and Jessie (7).

In addition to owning East St. Paul Electric, Charles is an East St. Paul former Community Club Executive Member and the former convener for soccer and basketball.

Charles supports the maintenance and improvement of roadways, drainage and lighting in the community. He also believes strongly in the value that our recreational facilities and programming bring. As a new councillor, Charles intends to represent Ward 4 residents with a strong voice at all council meetings.
